Hudson Valley Birth Network Social Justice Committee

The HVBN Social Justice Committee was founded in 2019 with a mission to:

• Support and promote trainings and programs that integrate cultural sensitivity as a means to close the gap in maternal and infant mortality rates.

• Take an active stance against systemic and institutional racism - as it relates to women's health and wellness - in an effort to ensure access to quality care.

• Advocate for local, state and federal legislation that ensures best practices as well as respectful and collaborative care for all women and families.

• Connect underserved communities with information and referrals to reproductive services and accompanying resources.
