Hey y’all, I'm Dr. Ashley (I'm not really southern, but I am from the south). I'm a Florida girl and lover of all things sunny, warm, and a little bit humid. I made a brave move to the Northeast for PT school and got my Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Columbia University in 2008.
One thing I get asked often is, "What made you get into doing this kind of stuff?" I found my passion of inspiring confidence in peoples' private parts after having two kids and realizing the "uh-ohs" and "omgs" that go along with it. I know how it feels to go through a life with pelvic pain, constipation, painful periods, and even painful sex. Not just because I guide people to overcome their problems, but because I've lived it and said "peace out" to those nasty symptoms!
I'm here to help you through your healing journey. I'm a PT, a coach, yoga teacher, and currently studying Rapid Resolution Therapy (a quick and painless process to clear emotions that are NOT serving you such as anxiety, fear and anger). I'm a believer that people who pee and poo deserve amazing care and someone to talk to about that private stuff... and resolve the issue! My pleasure is making sure moms feel more comfortable during pregnancy, are well prepared for birth and heal postpartum.
I'm a happy wife and mother of two spirited girls. I enjoy finding stillness and strength through yoga, hiking with my family, and a sipping a glass of rose on my sunny (did I mention I love the warm days) back porch.
You can learn more about how to work with me at www.bluedoorpt.com or email me ashley@bluedoorpt.com or text me 845.293.3667. Looking forward to hearing from you!

RANA LOWENTHAL is a mom of three, Doctor of Physical Therapy for 10+ years, and Certified Traditional Postpartum Doula based on traditional Moroccan medicine. She provides care at all phases of motherhood, including preconception, pregnancy, postpartum and beyond.
Rana believes that motherhood is sacred and must be honored. It is not a path that we were ever meant to walk alone. It is her mission to honor the wisdom from traditional cultures, while incorporating her contemporary training, to change the way we care for mothers.
During pelvic health physical therapy, you will receive holistic, hands-on care rooted in the knowledge that you are the expert of your own body. A session may include:
* Assessment of pelvic mobility and techniques to restore normal movement
* Assessment and treatment of pelvic floor strength, muscle tone, and tenderness
* Gentle techniques to encourage proper positioning and movement of abdominal and pelvic organs
* Scar tissue mobilization, which can play an important role in fertility
* Recovery following delivery (vaginal or cesarian) (intra-vaginal work is always optional)
For those who are interested in more of a fitness approach, you may opt for an exercise-focused treatment session where Rana will utilize her training as a Pregnancy and Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialist to reach your goals.
Traditional postpartum care, provided from the comfort of your home, is based on indigenous and traditional Moroccan postpartum medicine. Although the first forty days after birth are considered the most sacred, these services do benefit women who gave birth many years ago. A visit may include oil massage, “closing of the bones” ceremony, belly binding, traditional warm drink, womb steam, and hamam bath.

I grew up in a small fishing village in Southern Sweden overlooking the Baltic Sea. My journey to become a physical therapist and my passion for helping people began early in life, after my beloved grandfather had a massive stroke. Watching his healing process inspired me to lend a helping hand to people in need. I started PT school in 2004 and have pursued my dream of wanting to be a great listener and healer ever since.
In my years working in PT clinics and pediatric settings, I came to understand that the pelvic floor remains largely overlooked. What sometimes presents as an orthopedic issue is often compounded by a pelvic floor issue. It is my goal to look holistically at the individual.
I’ve given birth to three children and live an active lifestyle and know the frustration of leakage and the inadequacy of traditional care. I began to do more research and understood how pelvic floor therapy can treat a variety of issues in both men and women. I discovered there were ways I could help.
Being diagnosed with lupus in early 2023, I experienced firsthand a long and often grueling recovery. I dealt with dismissive doctors and endless tests. Eventually I found a team who listened and developed a treatment plan that was intrinsic to me.
My first Pelvic Floor course opened up new insights and treatment methods for the issues some of my PT patients complained of, including issues I experienced myself. It became an “Aha!” moment and it changed my life both physically and professionally. My passion for promoting the awareness and importance of pelvic health to women and men started from that day. I have since completed many courses and certifications while being mentored by experienced pelvic floor therapists to learn how the pelvis interacts with the rest of the body. The majority of my practice was completed in the NYU Pelvic Health Department.
I have found my greatest professional fulfillment in pelvic health. I am honored to be able to do the work I do.
